Captained by Keith Drew and Peter Scott, Xsquared Architects specialises in delivering to celebrate another major building in its ocntinuing involvement with th Hobart International Aiport - the prestigious new Hobart International Aiport Hotel. The buildings’ design is inpired by aeronautical imagery - with two “wings” of rooms formed by longitudinal skillion roofs with wide overhangs supported on steel-bracing stuts. A soaring canopy over the entry, a “control tower” lift shaft and chequer-pattern wall panels further enhance the allusion. Xsquared Architects provided a full range of architectural design, documentation and project management services, including 3-D presentations and marketing imagery for the project. Xsquared Architects is thrilled to see this aiport ‘gateway’ building complete. Designing the hotel was a great opportunity to work with enthusiastic, committed people - from airport managers to the client and other consultants, “ - Mr Keith Drew.
