Legal Aid Commission of Tasmania needed to consolidate their three existing facilities into a unified state office. The Gatecrasher nightclub was a dysfunctional and grimy shell of a building that nonetheless hinted at the possibilities of being adapted to fit the bill.
What was needed was some light from above, and the transformation from a dark hole to an enlightened work space emerged.
The project accommodates 65 staff over three floors. This project received a Commendation for Interior Architecture at the Australian Institute of Architects (Tasmanian Chapter) Awards 2005.
